The ECIC is the FEACO Working Group on EU procurement related issues
The ECIC was established in 1995 under the name ECIC (European Communities Institutions Committee) and currently counts around about 15 company and association members.
The group focuses on issues related to EU procurement, in particular Best Practice in the area of EU External Assistance projects.
ECIC members very regularly meet with representatives of the European institutions to discuss improvement of EU procurement procedures and practices. Recently the ECIC has extended its work to the OECD development committee, as this is the discussion forum for all the International Financing Institutes, such as the EU Commission, the World Bank, The Asian Development Bank etc.
FEACO associations and their member companies can become members of the ECIC.

Mr. Eric Tourrès, Executive Director of Transtec, Belgium has become the new Chairman of the ECIC as of 01 January 2008. Mr. Tourrès replaced Mr. Gilbert Germain, who was the Chairman over the last 3 years.
Mr. Etienne Matton, Director of IBM Business Solutions has become the Vice Chairman.
ECIC Publications
The ECIC is currently preparing a series of Position Papers on procurement related issues.
The position papers will concern:
1. installation of an efficient and effective helpdesk for problems with external aid tenders in Brussels, and an effective recourse system
2. More effectiveness of EU external aid and more transparency in budget support to development countries through better evaluations, monitoring, control and more technical assistance
3. The need for more reasonable financial guarantees for EU projects
4. A better system for EU Framework contracts
